Hi,

My name is Branimir, I am from Zagreb, Croatia.

I am developing dynamic balancing machine. Till now I have used NI USB module, but now I am thinking of switching to TI products. I have fond eval board ADS1220EVM and I am planoing to get one, but I am interested is there way to comannd with this module from apllication writen in VB6, is there library for VB6? Also is there any other product which can be used since my apllication is programed in VB6?

    Hi Branimir,

    Welcome to the forum! The ADS1220EVM is designed to work with our Labview based product called ADCPro.  However, the communication from the EVM to the software is accomplished through a virtual COM port using a CDC class on USB.  You should be able to write an application in VB6 using a COM port.  However, as software is provided for operation of the EVM, we are not able to add much support to helping you achieve your goal due to limited resources available.  There is no library for VB6.

    The commands for control/data are ASCII text and will be limited to the format currently available.  We do not offer the firmware code for modification at this time.  So even though it may be possible to communicate with the ADS1220EVM, you may not be able to achieve the results desired due to limitation of the code.  Before purchasing the EVM I would suggest you read through the ADS1220EVM user's guide and look at what can be done using ADCPro and ADS1220EVM plugin as this will be the scope of the EVM usage.
