Using the NCO of complex mixer to do Single Sideband Suppressed Carrier modulation.

Part Number: DAC34SH84

Hello,

I have a signal sin(wt) and cos(wt) going into the A and B inputs, in 2's compliment format. I want to do Signle Sideband Suppressed Carrier modulation and I managed to do that using the coarse mixers. I want to do the same thing with the NCO so that I can change the carrier but the carrier is always there in the spectre.

1. Why is this happening?

2. Is it possible to have SSB-SC using the NCO?

THanks

  • Hello H.M.

Most likely the NCO + complex fine mixer was not initialized correctly. You can try to set the sync source to be "SIF_SYNC" and toggle the sif sync bit.

Please see below document for detail:

complex mixer is designed for SSB_SC mixing (assuming complex input)
