DAC38J84: No output for DAC38J84 on Spectrum analyzer after programming chip

Hello Everyone,

Thanks you  for your support in advance. I have some issues with DAC38J84 chip with (L M F S = 8411) values. I have programmed the chip but gets no output from spectrum analyzer. I have tried to read the alarm registers but the all keep changing with the same initial settings. I don't know what i am doing wrong now .If you can point out to me possibly where i may be wrong. The other values are as follows K=20, L=8, SCR is off, HD is on.

    Hi Natty,

    It is possible that your digital source isn’t connected to the DAC properly. I think a good starting point would be to give the users guide for the DAC3XJ8XEVM a look, especially if you’re using the TSW14J56EVM to generate your signal. The basic requirements to get the board up and running are described in the Quick Start section of the users guide. Also, please note that on the DAC3XJ8XEVM the outputs are transformer coupled and can’t pass frequency signals below 10MHz. Hope this helps.

    Hello Abdallah,

    Very grateful for your help and submission. One thing strikes me from your response, the frequency of the signal being 10MHz or more. I am a culprit of that. I  will check it and others as well and feed you back.
