DAC5578: Asking for the DAC5578 setting and behavior

Part Number: DAC5578

Hi team,

This DAC5578 design spec maximun output voltage is 600mV. Please provide your review ccomment.

Questions
1. the EC send i2c_w rite 0x91 0x00 and oxffff 1 2, anything need to take care except this setting?
2. what is the recommeded pin 8 max output voltage? any recommend?
3. pin9: what's the impact for the Zero scale setting?
4. pin21: TWOC will influence FW setting? anything need to take care?
5. After software reset, cusotmer can only cpntrol DAC A/B/C, customer cannot control other DACS current output. Is this the right behavior?
6. After software reset, customer need to set other DAC(F/G/H) Power-Down Register to 1, then customer can control other DAC to 1.2V. Why need to set DAC (F/G/H) first? Is this expected behavior?

I can send the customer schematic to by mail for review if required.

Thank
SHH

I believe the only requirement is to issue the power-on command to the device but I am not intimately familiar with this particular device. We may need to investigate on the bench with an EVM to validate any power-on sequence.

Pin 8 is the VREFIN pin. It is an input.

The voltage output at zero-scale setting is described in the datasheet as zero-code error. 1mV typical and 4mV maximum.

This pin sets the DAC data format between binary two's complement versus straight binary. The firmware will need to use the corresponding appropriate format.

This is unexpected behavior. The reset should not "lock" the other DAC channels.

No, this is not expected behavior.
