ADS7042: Select a higher speed ADC

I am using the TMS320F28377S for test but its ADCs on chip are not satisfied, for example SNR at higher frequency.

The input signal:

Sine wave

Frequency 10 MHz

Amplitude 1 V

Resolution requirement 16 bit

Single end input

In TI's high speed ADCs there are no single end input ADCs. The speed of ADS7042 is lower. Are there any suitable products in precision ADCs.

    Unfortunately there is no part in precision ADCs which can support 10MHz input frequency at 16 bit resolution.

    Can you please let me know about your end application (what is the input source / Is frequency down conversion could be a option / Is lower throughput acceptable). Based on your inputs we can probably work around some of the high throughput precision ADCs to meet your requirement.

    There are couple of precision SAR ADC parts which can handle input signal frequency up to 1MHz. To get more information on this part I suggest you to get in touch with TI local sales team.

  • The stimuli source frequency is 10 MHz which is arbitrary thus the input signal is 10 MHz which is required signal and lower signal will be filtered as noise.
