we are interested in using the AFE7071 for higher rates then 20Mhz(the maximum baseband filter for I and Q is 10Mhz each), we understand that the filter width is a function of the input clock. how much higher then 65Mhz can we safely go and will it indeed widen the baseband filter? alternatively do you have any other products with similar functionality for 20+ mhz bitrate?]

Amir:

No, the AFE707x cannot support higher bandwidths than 10 MHz I/Q. For higher bandwidths and improved performance check out the DAC3482 plus TRF3705 modulator. This combination yields excellent analog performance and can support hundreds of MHz of BW.

a second question :

what are the parameters of the baseband filter at its maximum width (-3db point, -20db point..) and what kind of filter is it

(we are trying to see if we could use it for higher bitrates despite the filter being narrow)

The filter is a fourth order Butterworth filter. Maximum BW is 10 MHz (1 dB down point). The selectivity at maximum bandwidth is provided in the datasheet.
