ADS7951: About absolute maximum ratings of the REFN and REFP pins

Part Number: ADS7951

Hi,

Our customer have questions about absolute maximum ratings of the REFN-pin and REFP-pin of the ADS7951.

I ask questions because I can not find a value in the data sheet.
What is the absolute maximum rating of the REFN-pin and REFP-pin?

When the regulator that generates the REF voltage in the external circuit breaks down,
(For example, when 5 V is input) Does the overvoltage leak to each ch-0 to ch-n?

  • Hi Hiroaki San

ADS7951 is designed to work with external reference voltage between 2V to 3V. Please refer to electrical char table on page no. 12 of datasheet. So maximum voltage than can be applied to Vref pin will be 3V.

If you are using analog input range of 2 x VREF, then you have to make sure 2 x VREF should be less than or equal to analog power supply VA+. (2 x VREF <= VA+)

Please let me know if you need additional information about this

    Thanks & Regards
