ADS131A04: Driving ADC using external clock input of 25MHz

Hi

The datasheet specifies we can have a max. of 25MHz for external clock input frequency. The ADS131A04 EVM uses a crystal of 16.384MHz. Has anyone tried out using 25MHz clock for ADC? Is there an application example for this? Are there any special design considerations if one uses 25MHz?

    Hello Rakhi,

    Since 25 MHz is within the datasheet specified bounds, you should expect the device to behave properly. The only consideration I wound advise you to make is to look at section 9.3.2 in the datasheet especially regarding the switched capacitor inputs as a higher modulator frequency will make the driver requirements more stringent.
