DAC7553: Purpose of the sync pin for SPI

Part Number: DAC7553

I am trying to configure the DAC for SPI. I am using only one DAC and trying to determine the connections needed to the MCU SPI interface. Can Sync bar be left low or does it need to be controlled by the MCU. Also is it okay to leave SDO not connected for SPI. My MCU board has MISO, MOSI, CLK, and CSN. I know that CLK goes to SCLK. MOSI goes to SDI.

  • Hello JSR,

SYNC is required for communication, but it can be controlled by CSN on the MCU.  SDO is not required if you are not using the daisy-chain functionality of the DAC. You are correct that CLK can be connected to SCLK and MOSI can be connected to SDI.

Let me know if you have any more questions,
