Tool/software: Linux

Hi Team,

Am using ADS1247 for reading RTD sensor data using spi, Currently working on raspberry pi 3 board,

I need to install any drivers or drivers available , if install can you tell me the process ?

how to read the output of adc data using driver and application,

How to configure the kernel ?

Regards,

  • Naveen,

I'm not aware of any material available for the ADS1247 used to connect to the Raspberry Pi. We are really more helpful with questions involving the data converters themselves.

If you do a google search for Raspberry Pi and the ADS1247, I would also include a search that involves the ADS1248, ADS1147, and ADS1148. Most of the operation and commands are similar with these devices and you may be able to find more to help you along with your project.

  • Hi Joseph,

My question is ads1247 connected with spi , so how to read adc data from user application.

it is possible to read adc data without driver  if yes  how ?

if no any other process ??

    Regards,

  • Naveen,

There are plenty of ways to connect with ADS1247 but all will require some amount of knowledge and work. I've used different methods of communications as an interface with the device. Some are as simple as using the ADS1247EVM and MMB3 with the software provided in ADCPro. Other methods involve some scripting with an interface like the Total Phase Aardvark. I've also used a TI MSP430 Launchpad.

If you just want to test the device out, I would get the ADS1247EVM just to play with the device.
