ADS5560: Output format

I don't know what you mean by straight binary.   Section 7.4.4 of the datasheet describes what offset binary and 2's complement mean.  Straight binary is not mentioned in the datasheet.   For offset binary, when the input voltage is at its most negative value the output code will be all zero.   When the input voltage is at its most positive the output code will be all one.   when the input voltage is about zero volts differential this is mid-scale and the output code will be right about the boundary of output code 0111 1111 1111 to 1000 0000 0000.   This is the definition of offset binary.  2's complement is only different from offset binary in that the most significant bit is inverted.     I cannot tell you what Launchpad would want to see, whether offset binary or 2's complement, in the high speed data converters forum.  I am not familiar with those products.

ADC and DAC datasheets use different vocabularies and staffs don't know their difference. In EVMs Xilinx ICs are integrated rather than TI's MCUs therefore there are no references integrating TI's ADCs, MCUs and DACs. As if different sections in TI don't communicate each other.
