ADS8638: Trouble reading conversion data

Part Number: ADS8638

I'm working on a design that uses the ADS8638 to convert several different analog input for analysis on a linux-based computer.  The problem I am having is reading any conversion data values.  I can read and write to the configuration registers.  But when I read any of the channel registers, I get 0x0FFF on all channels regardless of what the voltage level is on the input.  My SCLK is running at 1MHz.  My HVDD and HVSS are +15.3VDC and -15.3VDC respectively.  I'm setting my range to 0 to 10V, and have an input voltage of 1VDC.  My AVDD is 5VDC and my DVDD is 3.3VDC.  I have two different boards with the same issue, and I have replaced the ADS8638 chip on one of these boards to make sure that the chip was in working order.

What can you suggest that I do to read the conversion channel data?

Thank you,

Robert
