ADC32RF44: ADC32RF44 powering only one channel

Part Number: ADC32RF44

i,

I am looking for a single channel >2GSPS ADC with as low as possible power dissipation but best SNR/SFR range as possible.

The ADC32RF44 seems like a candidate, unfortunately no single channel version available.

I see that channel B can be powered down by programming register 039h.

Does this powers down the complete b-side converter and its associated logic (interleaving correction, DDC etc.)?

What is the reduction in power dissipation when channel; B is powered down?

  • Hi Jan,

here some feedback. At the moment the ADC32RF4x is probably the best option. In single channel mode the entire channel is powered down (ADC + Digital + JESD etc). However there are some shared circuitry so power is not exactly 50% lower.

    At fs= 2Gsps

Dual channel Mode: Pd ~ 5.5W

Single channel Mode: Pd ~ 3.2W
