ADS1298ECGFE-PDK: development kit can't find firmware, and the decimal point on MMB0 is not illuminated

Part Number: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK

Hi,

I have a ads1x98ECG FE Rev C, with mother board MMB0 Rev D.

It worked well one year ago, but now the software can't find the firmware and can't download.

I got,

"The firmware load has failed due to a timeout condition

Please reset the hardware to continue loading the firmware"

then, I chosed exit, and got

"Connection and FW Load Failed!

Please check your connections/configuration and try again"

And I chosed Retry bottom, then,

"Locating Binary file"

"Reading binary file"

"USB connection established"

"no firmware found...downloading"

"Download failed..reset the hardware"

I've checked the  J12, S4 and S3 , as  said. However, I got problem with drivers. There's no prompt.

And I've tried to install ADS1298ECGFEFirmware and ADS1298ECGFEFSoftware, but nothing help.

It said Unknown device called MMB0(NI-VISA) when I re-plug in the USB and power on the board.

I've noticed the  decimal point should be lighted as it worked one year ago, but this time it is not illuminated.

  • Hi,

I just changed a computer( win7 as well ) and solved by installing the software and finding the right driver.
There was an error of libsub0.dll while installing. And when the USB plunged in, there were two driver installing automatically, the NI-VISA one succeed and the USBStyx failed. So there was an unknown device, and I referred to the driver path as the installing path. THEN succeed!
I've spend a whole day to figure out this problem...
Hope this would help one with the same problem,(although I don't know why it works!)

And Hope there could be someone figure out why the last computer failed, which showed no error about dll when installing , but failed to found the firmware.
    Thanks a lot.
  • Hey Wendi,

I'm glad you've got it to work somehow. Is one of the computers 32-bit and the other 64-bit? There are actually different drivers for each and sometimes it does not work properly when the driver mismatches the machine.

    Brian
  • Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your reply.

Both of them are 64Bit win7.

I've worked on the last computer with this kit, driver and software were installed. however it doesn't work now. Reinstalling doesn't work as the new computer.

For the failed pc, the driver installed without error  and when USB plugged in, the Second(USBsyn) driver never worked. As for the new computer, the driver installed with lack of dll file, while he found a need for second driver.

I still feel puzzled about this. Really weird.
