ADS1198ECGFE-PDK: ADS1198ECGFE-PDK front end circuitry queries

Part Number: ADS1198ECGFE-PDK

Dear TI Team,

            Please, clarify on the following.

  • Suggest part number of D4 used for ESD protection.
  • What is the use of C25, R45,& R46?. provide the values for the same.

  • What is the use of pull resistors on each channel, in figure below?. provide values to be used  for the same.

         Please, reply ASAP.

Thanks and Regards,

Bhairu

  • Hello Bhairu,

We actually do not have a recommendation for diode. Generally TI's customers have preferred diodes they use for defibrillator protection. Have any of your paste generation products used defib protection diodes that work in this application?

Those resistor and capacitor footprints are placed for the situation that the EVM is modified to provide for ac coupling. However, pins 1 and 2 of JP13 are shorted in the PCB so it is not possible to ac couple on this EVM.

  • Bhairu,

Those resistor footprints are placed in the scenario that some channels are unused. When channels are unused, you should pull the channel input pins to AVDD using any value resistor. If you are using all channels, then do not worry about those resistors.
