ADS1191: Sample signal issue

Part Number: ADS1191

Hi,

I am using ADS1191 to sample ECG signal. I have finished the driver and get the signal data. I test the following signal:

1) set CH1SET=0x01, get the signal with Input shorted, then the output value is about +-5, this is right.

2) set CH1SET=0x05, CONFIG2=0xE3, get the signal with internal test signal 1Hz, and the positive peak is about 80, negative peak is -80, and the waveform is right also. 1Hz 1mV test waveform.

3) set CH1SET=0x00, CONFIG2=0xE0, get the signal from my left hand and right hand, but this step get stuck, I could not get any ECG signal from the output, all data is noise, after filter, nothing.

Could you help to advise what way can I try? Is there any point missed by me?

Regards

Simon

  • Hello user4850818,

Are you using a RL electrode to bias the patient? If not, are the inputs ac coupled to provide dc bias ? The common-mode of the inputs needs to be biased between the power supplies in order to be measured. This is done using either a RL electrode or by ac coupling the inputs.
