Hi,
I'm seeing some goofy stuff in the ADS1115 data sheet: SBAS444C –MAY 2009–REVISED DECEMBER 2016
Figure 43 on page 33 shows 10 Ohm pullup resistors for the I2C interface. Surely this is incorrect.
Figure 39 on page 29 has several problems:
1) SDA is shown with 2 pullup resistors in parallel. That's odd.
2) ADDR is shown connected to a GPIO of an MCU. That's an atypical usage of ADDR. Why would one want to assign the hardware address dynamically?
3) ALERT/RDY is shown grounded. This is in contradiction to stated wiring of an unused ALERT/RDY pin.
I believe the problems with Figure 39 stem from a botched transcription of the designer's intentions. I suggest that ALERT/RDY should be connected to the GPIO. That stray resistor should pullup ALERT/RDY per paragraph 9.3.7. ADDR should then be shown connected to an accepted signal similar to Figure 42.
Please respond, as my assumptions could be entirely incorrect and thus my current circuit design would need modification.
Cheers,
David
