DAC38J84EVM: Error installing DAC3XJ8X GUI - Problem with NI security update?

Part Number: DAC38J84EVM

Greetings,

I recently attempted to reinstalled the DAC3XJ8X GUI (to interface with DAC38J84EVM http://www.ti.com/tool/dac38j84evm), but am running into a problem. I have no way to advance beyond this step (shown below).  I also installed HSDC Pro software http://www.ti.com/tool/dataconverterpro-sw I am assuming this is a bug in the code for the GUI? I am running on windows 10.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

  • Mason,

If you did an uninstall already, there is still another folder you will have to delete manually before trying re-install the GUI. This folder is called "DAC3XJ8X GUI and is located at C:\Program Files (86)\Texas Instruments\ as shown below. I do not know if this GUI has been tested on a Windows 10 OS system and it may not operate. I am looking into this.

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Hey Jim,

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. I just checked and I did delete this when uninstalling. I know it is only support through windows 7 but I was able to install it and open it and play around a little on windows 10 before.

Any other ideas? I thought the issue might be caused by installing HSDC. I tried uninstalling HSDC and installing the DAC GUI but the same problem occurred.
  • Mason,
    Is this still an issue?

  • Found that I hadnt fully uninstalled. Fully uninstalling and installing HSDC pro first worked.

Another note, DAC3XJ8X and HSDC both work fine on Windows 10.

    No longer and issue thanks
