ADC32RF44: ADC32RF45 pin compatible with ADC32RF44?

My application does not need 3GHz sampling, so I'm thinking of going to the less expensive ADC32RF44 from the ADC32RF45.  Is there any other functional differences other than the maximum speed?  My maximum input frequency is less than 1GHz.

    Hi,

    the two devices are completely pin compatible.  In fact, they are the same device except for factory test and trim where the RF45 is trimmed for optimum performance at 3Gsps while the RF44 is trimmed and tested for optimum performance at 2.5Gsps.    So you would want to use the device that is rated for closest to your desired sample rate. 

    besides the factory trimming, there are some register configuration stuff that is not fuse-blown at time of manufacture but rather are loaded in through SPI at run time, so the configuration files are a bit different between the RF45 and RF44.  The ADC SPI GUI that is available for the EVM will come with a folder of configuration files for the RF45, and a folder of config files for the RF44.  The datasheets for the devices also points to an internet link for a zip file of a list of register addresses that should be written for device configuration - the content of the zip files that the datasheet points to is contained in the config files that come with the SPI GUI, so there are two sources for this device configuration that you can look to.

    Hi,

    Yes, that link is broken and will be fixed in the next revision of the datasheet.  Looking at the link I think I can see what happened.  The different file types that have a TI literature number are grouped in folders by file type, and if you hover over the link you can see that it points to a folder of pdf files.   But the actual file is a zip file, not a pdf file.  So the link points to something that is not actually in that folder of pdf files.   This will be fixed.  Attached is the actual zip file.
