ADS8698: ADS8698 Question about timing parameters

Expert 4615 points

Part Number: ADS8698

Hi ADC-experts,

I have a question regarding the timing parameters of ADS8698.
Can you confirm the MIN specifications of the timing requirements in ADS8698 datasheet figure 1 indicate the maximum setup/hold times when it is guaranteed the respective output data is valid after the noted time has elapsed?
Eg for tsu_dock: The SDO data output is valid latest 25ns after SCLK falling edge?

Thanks and best regards,
KF

  • Hello KF,

The minimum timing specifications given in the ADS8698 datasheet are relative to the maximum SCLK frequency.

So for your question specifically - tsu_dock is a minimum of 25ns for the SDO output to be valid before the SLCK falling edge. The 25ns timing requirement is the value for when the SCLK frequency is at 18 MHz. At a slower SCLK frequency the tsu_dock time will increase since the SCLK period will be longer.

Please reach out with any follow-up questions.

    Thank you,
    Reed Kaczmarek
