ADC32RF45: ADC32RF45 SPI port Absolute Maximum(Minimum) Rating

Part Number: ADC32RF45

Hi Team,

Absolute Minimum spec about SPI port is -0.2V while other ports are -0.3V.
Would you recheck SPI port minimum range?
Customer SPI undershoot level almost -0.27V whilch means out of spec and might be damged with -0.27V.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
Jade

  • Hi,

Since the 0.2V tolerance below ground seems to match the 0.2V tolerance above the supply, that does not look to me to be an accident or typo - but I have asked the design team about it.

Also, if your concern is about a transient signal (undershoot) rather than a static long term value that violates the spec, then I am generally less concerned about that.  If there were some reason that the input signals was at a logic low level below -0.2V for the duration of the signal then that would be a concern.  A brief transient that barely crosses the limit is less of a concern. Still, if it is possible to do something to dampen the undershoot such as a termination resistor on the signal then that would be better yet.  Maybe a series termination at the source of the signal at the driver or a parallel termination resistor at the terminus of the signal.
