DAC1282: Gain error and nonlinearity

Part Number: DAC1282
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC9881, ADS1282

Hello all,

A customer ask,

" In DAC1282 datasheet, gain error given on 10th page looks like very high. Is it for AC output applications if not could you please inform me about DC applications, what is non-linearity and gain errors? "

Could anyone help me with this please?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Kaustubh,

I believe Figure 9 is showing the DC gain error. The values match with the 0.1% DC gain error specified on page 5:

Please note: The DAC1282 is not intended to be used for high accuracy or high-resolution DC applications. It is mainly used for its high SNR and THD performance when provided as a test signal input to the ADS1282 in seismic applications. For high-precision DC applications, I think the DAC9881 is currently the best DAC in our portfolio.

    Best Regards,
    Chris
