ADS1015: Multiple Channel Data Rate

Hi,

I am curious how the data rates degrade as the number of channels sampled is increased. I am going to be sampling two analog inputs continuously. Currently, my assumption is that the only option for this is to single shot each channel and switch between the two and read from one channel a time, however, I also thought it might be possible to connect two ADS1015s to a master as switch between the slaves while in continuous mode on each.

I am looking to maintain speeds of 1k S/s per channel. I am curious what the switch time between channel or slave would be as that would determine the sample speed.

    The maximum sample rate of the ADS1015 is 3.3 kSPS and with the function of a single-cycle setting, the device can sample two channels with the speed of 1.65 kSPS.

    It’s also possible to connect two ADS1015s via I2C to the master. The devices support the I2C high speed mode (3.2 Mbit/s), but I guess, you will be fine with the normal mode.

    To speak directly with one of the slave devices the ADCs get a fixed I2C address setup by ADDR pin.
