DAC8760: maximum output signal frequency

Hello

I'm trying to generate 2 khz ramp signal by DAC8760 .

I don't have any problem with output value my problem is about output frequency.

I'm writing on DAC data register every 25us .

but output signal frequency is about  1 hz !

Slew rate is Disabled .

I'll be very happy if you help me

    Hi Mori,

    Thanks for posting. Let me ask you a few questions to better understand your situation.

    • Can you provide a capture of the output waveform? I don't know what you mean exactly when you say the output signal is 1 Hz.
    • Are you using the device in current mode or voltage mode?
    • What is the code range of the ramp you are trying to produce?

    It's important to realize that updating the DAC every 25us to create a 2 kHz ramp will only yield 20 points per period. Few points will lead to distortion of the ramp waveform. The impact of this distortion will depend on your application.
