ADC for 3.3V operation

Hello everyone.

I need help choosing an ADC for use with signals operating between 0 and 3.3V. I require 16 total channels (will work with multiple parts), SPI interface, greater than or equal to 10 bits resolution, and the sampling frequency as high as possible.

I looked at that one but what confused me was the 2.5V reference voltage on Pin Vref. Is the 2.5V required or is that just a arbitrary number which means I can use a 3.3V reference instead?

Hi Enforcer 83,

Take a look at the page 6 of the data sheet for the reference voltage restrictions. The reference voltage range is anywhere from 2.0V to 3.0V. So you would not be able to use a 3.3V reference.

If you go to search in the TI website for 16 channel ADCs you will come up with a short list of 6 parts. Take a look at those to see if they meet your system needs. Otherwise you may have to use multiple parts, such as two eight channel ADCs, etc.
