PGA450Q1EVM Programming Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA450Q1EVM, PGA450-Q1, PGA460-Q1

According to PGA450Q1EVM User's Guide "5.3 0-Ω Resistors" on P7,

I installed jumpers and 0-Ω resistors to R2, but I could not write the program.

I can see the VP_OTP is ON and 8V supplied.

Also I use PGA450-Firmware Rev 2.1.1 downloaded by web.

But it shows writing error for both of OPT and DEVRAM.

Pls advise and fix it.

Thanks.

  • Hi user5069437,
Are you attempting to program the PGA450 already installed on the EVM, or are attempting to program a new/pristine IC?
When you click the "Check OTP Status" button, what is the GUI response?

The PGA450-Q1 installed on the PGA450Q1EVM is already OTP programmed to jump to DEVRAM, so you cannot re-program the OTP memory. If you populate a new/pristine PGA450-Q1 onto the EVM, you can then reprogram the OTP memory. Before you do that, why are you wanting to reprogram the OTP memory?

When loading the DEVRAM .HEX file, you do not need VP_OTP to be supplied, nor do you need the 0Ohm short.

Also, TI has released the PGA460-Q1, which is our next-gen USSC device. I recommend that you use the PGA460-Q1 instead, since the PGA460-Q1 has better driver and AFE performance.
