Suggestion for IC which can convert single ended to differential signal

Hello,

I required a single ended to differential converter because I want to use that to convert STEP and DIR signal for stepper motor driver of another board(second board) which is quite away from the first board. Second board accept differential STEP and DIR signals.

So can any one suggest me a good IC or any other solution?

Hi Dinesh,

Please describe STEP and DIR signals. Are they 3.3 V CMOS Logic signals or ? If logic levels are 5 V, then the SN75174 Line Driver should work for you http://www.ti.com/product/sn75174 If the logic levels for STEP and DIR are 3.3 V, we have other devices here http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/interface/rs-485-rs-422/rs-485-rs-422-overview.page that will meet your needs.

Dear sir,

STEP(Gives step signal to stepper driver) and DIR(Gives direction signal to stepper driver) both are output. Both are 3.3 V CMOS Logic signals.

Dear sir,

Is there any IC which can convert two single ended signal to differential? Both the single ended signals should be work as output. Not same like in RS485. In RS-485, TX signal is output abd RX signal is input. Can you suggest me the IC where both the signal are in outward direction?

Dear sir,

I got one IC AM26LV31E Low-Voltage High-Speed Quadruple Differential Line Driver.

I need total six channels. So I can use two ICs.

Is that IC fine to use ?

Hello Dinesh,

Please check the input voltage specifications of your differential STEP and DIR inputs compared to the differential output specifications of the AM26xx31x devices. The AM26LV devices have reduced output voltage levels compared to the 5 V AM26xx31x devices. All of the quad differential line drivers in interface/RS-485/RS-422 parametric tables (including device mentioned previously) could possibly work for you but require 5 V supply. There is also a 5 V supply dual device, the SN75158 that you might consider. Note also that some AM26xx31x devices have built in ESD protection or enhanced temperature range and other features depending upon the part number.
