ADS7042: Current consumption at low sampling rate

Part Number: ADS7042

Hi Team,

Do we have any data on this device's current consumption while sampling at around 25kHz?

Thanks,
Mitchell

  • Hello Mitchell,

    I collected current consumption data with this device sampling at 1kSPS, 10kSPS, 100kSPS, 500kSPS, and 1 MSPS.

    The power scales linearly across this range of sampling rates. The values I have collected for AVDD current are below:

    I do not have data collected for 25kSPS but following the curve of power scaling for this device, the AVDD current should be near 5.5uA.

    The other current to keep in mind is the DVDD current. DVDD current is a function of your DVDD voltage, SDO trace capacitance, and the frequency of transitions on your SDO line.

    I_DVDD= C∗V∗f

    • C is the load capacitance of the SDO line
    • V is the digital supply voltage
    • f is the frequency of transitions on the SDO output

    Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thank you,

    Reed Kaczmarek

  • Thanks Reed!
