PGA450Q1EVM: Controlling Multiple Boards Through USB?

Part Number: PGA450Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA450-Q1, PGA460

Hi,

Is it possible to control multiple boards through USB on a single computer? I'd like to run two GUI's simultaneously and monitor the readings of two transducers.

Thanks,

Geoff

  • Hi Geoffrey,

Unfortunately, only one instance of the USB TIGER interface board can be run on a single computer.

However, it is possible to monitor the activity of multiple PGA450-Q1 devices if you leverage the device address in UART or LIN mode. You can also use the PGA450Q1EVM-S (or equivalent solution) to connect the UART or LIN pins to full-scale EVM's bus.

If you want to use the GUI specifically, the you will need to route the SPI's chip select to the device/sensor of interest since the majority of GUI interfacing uses the SPI interface.

Are you aware of our latest generation PGA460 device? This device offers numerous improvements versus the PGA450. I highly recommend the PGA460 for any new designs.
