ADC32RF45EVM: ADC32RF45

Part Number: ADC32RF45EVM

Hi,

I installed ADC32RF45EVM GUI files but for some reason when I check "Device Manager" it shows the board as unrecognized. I am using Windows 7 64 bit SP1. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again but it made no difference. I am not sure how to proceed from here. I looked for drivers online but couldnt find any.

Sai.

  • Hi,

May I see the rest of the Device Manager showing all the USB ports as well?  Does the SPI GUI connect to the EVM showing the green indication in the upper right corner of the GUI?  There are two ways for the GUI to handle the USB port - as a USB port and as a virtual com port.  This GUI does not use the virtual com port, but sometimes there is a 'problem' related to the virtual com port in Device Manager and the problem doesn't affect the use of the GUI.  If there is a problem with the actual USP connection, than the SPI GUI will fail to find the EVM and there will be a popup window asking whether to retry or just run the GUI in 'simulation mode' with no hardware connection.  If the GUI does not pop up the window when it fails to connect, then it should indicate a good connection with the green indicator.

In the location where the SPI GUI is installed, (Program Files(x86) > Texas Instruments > ADC32RFxx EVM GUI) there is a file called FTDI Driver Installation Procedure.pdf that has instructions for fixing driver issues if needed.  The file points to utilities from the manufacturer of the USB chip we used for uninstalling the USB drivers and reinstalling the USB drivers.

Do you already have the HSDCPro GUI installed for the TSW14J56 capture card?   I believe the SPI GUI relies on having had HSDCPro already installed for some of the SPI GUI drivers. If you don't have HSDCPro installed, then the simple thing might be to uninstall the EVM GUI, then install HSDCPro and then install the EVM SPI GUI again.

    Regards,
