CCS/ADS1292ECG-FE: Can I use CCS debug ADS1292RECG-FE?

I'd like to ask about it. I bought a Demo Kit for ads1292 ADS1292RECG-FE


Is this demo kit available for use as a development board? Can I use CCS to download and debug the MSP430 on this demo board like TI using other development boards?


The ads1292 demo suite comes with a USB port that can be used to update firmware, but you must update it with a package update firmware.

I tried using CCS debug to connect to the times and couldn't find the debug port.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your interest in our ADS1292!

    Our EVM is not intended for debugging and software development. It may be possible to do what you are asking, but my team cannot support these efforts. The ADS1292RECG-FE was designed to showcase the features and the performance of the ADS1292R so that you could prepare to use it in your own designs.

    That said - there are four surface test points that connect to the MSP430 pins you need for JTAG interface: TDO, TDI, TMS, and TCK (TP21, TP23, TP27, and TP28, respectively). You would have to solder some wires to these points. My remaining concern is how to erase the firmware and place the MSP430 in boot-strap mode (BSL). There is a switch (S1) that appears to do this, but it has not been tested by our team and I cannot guarantee if it works. Unfortunately, there is very little documentation about this.

    I will leave this thread open for a few days in case someone else has sucessfully reprogrammed the ADS1292RECG-FE.

    Thank you for your patient reply. It's very useful to me.


    I also have a problem now. I used embedded firmware upgrade software in ADS1292 EVM GUI to upgrade the firmware, but I upgraded a program written by myself instead of ADS1292ECG-FE firmware package.


    So now that ADS1292ECG-FE is powered on, it's my own program. I tried using MSPFET BSL to restore the original firmware, but failed. The failure information is shown below.


    I think how can I get back to the factory firmware?

    I'm not familiar with that software.

    Have you tried to load the firmware through the ADS1x9xECG-FE GUI? There are some instructions about this in the User Guide (section 7, page 37).
