PGA309: frequency response

Part Number: PGA309

I'm looking at using the PGA309 for a design and have been asked how much the DAC in the signal path slows the output response of the device. There is concern that the digital aspects of the device will cause a sluggish response from a bridge signal to the output. Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks,Brian

  • Hi Brian,
The DAC's impact on the PGA309's overall slew rate and bandwidth should already be considered in the datasheet specifications. Depending on gain configuration, you can expect between 60kHz and 400kHz of bandwidth from the front-end PGA, with a 2MHz gain bandwidth product for the output amplifier. Output slew rate is .5V/us. As long as your input signal falls within that range, the PGA309 should reproduce it without slew or bandwidth limitations.
