AMC7812: Issue on IOVdd pin

Part Number: AMC7812

1. I supply the 5V power on AVCC and AVDD and DVDD, but supply 3.3V on IOVdd, is that a correct application?

2. When I measured the voltage on IOVdd, it is not 3.3V, it appears 4.2V, and when I cut off the connection from the IOVdd to 3.3V supply the Voltage on IOVdd pin is still 4.2V, but now the IOVdd pin get nothing to be connected, it looks the 4.2V come from the chip inside.

  • Hello,

    1. Yes that is an acceptable supply configuration for the AMC7812.
    2. I would expect that there is some flaw in the setup or board in which you are testing the device. Perhaps you have a some of the digital inputs connected to a higher potential supply? I would inspect the board for accidental shorts or possible mismatch of the digital input pins.

Let me know if you have more questions.
    Thanks
    Paul
