ADC12D1620QML-SP: ADC12D1620-SP unused input connection

Part Number: ADC12D1620QML-SP

Hi,

I wish to understand the proper connection of the unused VinQ+ & VinQ-.

The mode of operation is DES, single input to I-channel, interleaved with the 2 ADCs.

In the datasheet, table 29 (unused analog input recommended  termination), states that for AC coupling the Unused+ & Unused- should be tied together. Does this mean direct connection between the VinQ+ & VinQ- pins of the ADC?

Regards,

Itai

  • Hi Itai
That is correct. When VinQ+ and VinQ- are unused (as in DES I input mode) and with AC-coupled mode selected, you can just connect VinQ+ to VinQ- directly or with a small value resistor.
If you have a system requirement to connect them to some other system voltage (ie ground) let me know and I can provide further recommendations.
    Best regards,
    Jim B
