Can I use DC/DC converter instead of LODs for AVDD, HVDD and HVSS power rails of ADS8568?

If DC/Dc converters are O.K for ADS8568 power rails, What are DC/DC requirement?

Hello Philip,

It is not recommended to use a DC/DC converter to directly power the device.

These converters have a switching frequency that negatively affect the performance of the device, thus is it highly recommended to use an LDO after the DC/DC converter to help eliminate this issue.

If you would like to learn more, let me suggest our TI Precision Labs on ADCs, Section 4 would help greatly in addressing this concern.

In case of ADS8568EVM, TPS65131 is used for HVDD,HVSS and there are not LDO for HVDD and HVSS.

You are correct, the EVM board does not have an LDO; when it was being designed, it was probably decided that the split rail converter was sufficient to meet performance.
