ADS8671: PGA slew rate

Part Number: ADS8671

Dear Expert.

Thank you for your special support everyday.

There is a simple question about ADS8671 IPW.

What is the slew rate value of PGA  (programmable gain amplifier) ?

  • Hello,

The timing and characteristics of the device take into consideration the entire integrated front end (unless specificly stated otherwise in the datasheet)
What concerns do you have consideraing the slew rate?

It will take a couple days to gather the information, but I can look into it

    Regards
    Cynthia
  • Hello,Cynthia-san

    Thank you for your reply.
    I recognized about that point.
What is the point I should check to confirm the slew rate value?

    Fukazawa
  • Fukazawa-san,
There is no way to test the PGA directly.
The analog front end is completely integrated into the device, thus the specifications on timing given in the datasheet take it into consideration.
To give you an approximation, I used a 20Vpp step input (-10V to 10V), a worst case scenario, to estimate how long it would take the device to settle to the corect value. Sampling at 1Msps, it took about 108 samples to settle, giving 108 us settling time.

    Regards
    Cynthia
  • Dear Cynthia-san

    Thank you for your reply.
I recognized that the slew rate of PGA alone can not be calculated.
Also, thank you for measuring the settling time.
I will consider it as reference at the time of design.
    I appreciate special support.
