ADC12D800RFRB: Real Time Programming an FPGA on an ADC board

Hi,

I got the ADC12D800RFRB board, which is designed to digitizes analog signals at 12-bit resolution. The board has an FPGA that captures the data from the ADC and transfers it to the PC via the USB connection.

My question is, can i write to the FPGA in order to analyze (run an algorithm) in real time on the same data i am acquiring with this ADC board.

It may be possible to do what you are planning, but since this is an older board the only support I can provide is the FPGA source code used.

You will need to take care of any changes and debugging on your own.

I expect the version of the board you have has an FMC expansion connector section extending out on one side. If this is correct then the source code you need is available here:

If you have the older style board which uses 2 smaller expansion connectors then this file should contain the proper source code:

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply, what would you suggest to use if i want to do a fast real time analysis on the acquired data. i would like to apply an algorithm that will make a real time decision regarding the acquired signal.
can you thing of a better board, or another/additional hardware that has TI support for such an application?

The ADC12D800RFRB is intended as an evaluation tool for customers interested in the ADC12D800RF ADC device. Once they are satisfied that the ADC meets their system performance needs they can then design their own digitizer board based on this ADC.

If you are looking for a development platform to support real-time analysis using custom firmware then something like the National Instruments NI-5772 might be a better fit.

The NI platforms are intended to support the type of usage you are looking for.
