AMC7812: SPI communication

Hello,

I have configured AMC7812 as slave and test tool as master, but I always get the MISO output as 0x00 and some time 0xFF.

Actual expected output is other than 0x00 and 0xFF.

Hi Shivakumar,

It will be difficult to diagnose this without some additional information. Can you share your schematic? Are you using I2C or SPI? Which register are you trying to read? Can you verify with than oscilloscope what the digital lines are doing?

Hello Paul,

I am using SPI, the request sent was 0xEC0000 and expected result according to data sheet is 0x1220 - Reading the register ID.

But the response what Iam getting is 0x00. Can you please let me know if device is damaged or defect. Please fins the attached trace.

Hi Shivakumar,

I cannot determine if the device is damaged with this information. I think the best thing to do is to verify that all your supplies and pin configurations are correct, then verify the SPI frame complies with the specification for the AMC7812 timing diagram.
