ADS8900BEVM-PDK: ADS8900BEVM-PDK is not getting powered up(only PHI is getting powered up)

Part Number: ADS8900BEVM-PDK

I have connected to the ADS8900BEVM-PDK board via the PHI controller,I have the installed the relevant GUI from the TI website. When I launch the application I am getting the error "The board is not connected".Only the PHI is powered up,the evm board is not powered up and no led glows on EVM board.

Unable to see this kind of led glown.

In user guide of ADS8900BEVM-PDK, on page no 10, the jumper locations listed seems to be different than the usual one.

I can see the location of the jumpers are at different places when compared to the usual board.

Can anyone help me with this, how to power the ADS8900BEVM-PDK board.

  • Hi Aditya,

Referring to the quick start guide, please connect the PHI board to the EVM as shown in the image below.

Connect the hardware to the computer and launch the EVM GUI installed on your computer. You had previously requested a driver for Windows 10 in this post. Kindly use this driver to work with the hardware.

If you are unable to launch the GUI and continue receiving the "The board is not connected" error, please let me know.

After launching the EVM GUI, please measure the voltages at test points shown in red below -

Please check if the measured voltages are not as per the labels mentioned in the image above.

  • Hi rahul, I have connected the EVM to the PHI controller by the steps given in the quick start guide. When i launch the GUI I get the error

The EVM is not getting powered up and even i want to know whether the EVM can be powered externally.

Do you know any other way to power up the EVM?

  • I have connected the PSI board to the EVM, I could a LED glowing on the PSI board, but when i run the GUI application i see the board is not connected.

We suspect that it could be a driver issue, we installed the drivers for windows 7 and tried running the application, still the board is not connected.

Can we get the stabilized driver for windows 7 to run this application?

  • Hi Aditya,

I have sent you an email.
Kindly refer to that for more information about the drivers.
  • Hi rahul,

We are using windows 7 machine, the EVM is not getting powered up.We also tried installing some additional drivers but still the device is not getting powered up.

PSI board is getting powered up and the GUI shows device not detected.
  • Hi Aditya,

Thanks for confirming that you are using a Windows 7 machine.
The EVM GUI and hardware support Windows 7 and no additional steps are required beyond those mentioned in EVM user guide.

I have sent you an email with my comments.
