ADS1115: EVM

Part Number: ADS1115
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO, ADS1015

Dear Experts,

It seems that there is no EVM available for ADS1115. Since 1115 is p2p with 1015, is it possible to use 1115 on 1015 EVM? If 1015 on EVM is replaced with 1115, can EVM still be used with PDK and is it still compatible with ADCPro?

Thanks!

Rgds,

Juha

  • Juha,

The ADS1115EVM has been obsoleted. The ADS1015 is in that process as well. ADCPro was designed in the days of Windows XP, and now only works up to Windows 7 (although I think people have gotten it to work on later versions). We are working on a replacement based on MSP430 Booster Pack, which should be out next year.

In the mean time, the ADS1115EVM is still available at some vendors. I was able to find it at Digikey:

Also, it is possible to use the ADS1015EVM to evaluate the basic functionality of the ADS1115. The EVM is still available from TI here:

Lastly, you could use an I2C emulator and drive the ADS1115 directly from a simple board. Adafruit makes an ADS1115 board that is relatively inexpensive:

    Sorry about the inconvenience.

  • Thanks Joseph,

Is it possible for you to give more exact estimate for boosterpack release date?

  • Juha,

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. We're on holiday in the US.

I did check on the booster pack release. We will likely have a prototype at the end of Q4/beginning of Q1. I would expect a release sometime in Q2.
