ADS52J90EVM: ADS52J90EVM

Part Number: ADS52J90EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS52J90

We have the above ADC being used with TSW14J56, and controlled with a modified Mathlab program. Stopped operating even in stand alone mode with just the HSDC Pro in capture, ext. or int. trigger mode. All inputs have been verified but have led's D1, 3, 8, 10 and 17 lit only on the TSW. All the small blue leds are on. How can I confirm which pcb is at fault?

  • Hi Mike,

Have you identified either one of the TSW14J56EVM or ADS52J90 as the culprit first? Does D28 come on for the TSW14J56(revD?) board after you load the firmware using HSDC Pro?

    Sincerely,

    Olu

  • Hi Olu,

Grateful for your help. What you ask is the question I asked, how do I figure out which board is the bad boy so I can obtain an RA to have it repaired.

In my first msg I did not see DS28 because of cables, but yes it is lit.

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

What is the exact error you see when you try to complete a capture in HSDC Pro?
As you know, there are a lot of ICs on both boards and knowing the exact error pop-up might help narrow things down a little.

    Sincerely,
    Olu
  • Hi Olu,
The equipment is being used for a NASA/University experiment and it's failure causes a research work stoppage. This morning I purchased both boards from DIGI-KEY. Perhaps when time permits I'll use the new ones to pinpoint the faulty culprit and deal with it then. Thanks for your attention.
