DAC3174: Fuse Issue

Hi,

We recently purchased DAC3174 components.

On the datasheet there is register 0x06 for function fuse. currently we read the value 0x4480, which means force full word control.

We intend to use the device with dual clock, dual bus.

Why the device is limited to full word control?

Can we change it?

The full word interface is not an adjustable value on this device unfortunately.
I have forwarded your question to an engineer that might be able to help with your dual-clock/dual-bus application.

We bought this device based on the datasheet.

In the datasheet the default value is 0.

How did we get those devices?

Why it's not diffrent PN?

We already assembled the devices on the PCB.

Hi Ran,

if you change config1 (0x01) bit 13 to 0 you should be able to used the dual 7 bit buses for two half words mode.

Hi Gill,

I have tried that and it looks like it's doesn't work.

are you sure it bypass the fuse blown? currently the fuse is forcing the device to full word interface.

can you send me register initial value to try maybe I'm missing something.

Hi Ran,

Yes the device you will only work in 14bitdataword mode. There is no way to bypass the fuse.
