Hello, we are looking at using this Device and am wondering what goes on inside the black box in regards to software.

Has the software inside this device been qualified to any sort of safety standard?

Is the firmware hard encoded or is it performed using discrete logic?

    Hi TC,

    This device and its state machine is implemented using discrete logic, thus there is no software or firmware. The EEPROM is accessible to the user to program the output transfer function, but that is a table of constants rather than any kind of instruction set. The device has passed TI's and industry quality standards, but other than that I do not believe it has gone through some kind of specific safety qualification. Do you have qualification in mind that you are looking for?
