AMC1305M25: CLKIN and DOUT

Part Number: AMC1305M25

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask AMC1305M25?
Please refer to the attachment file.
20171207_AMC1305.pdf

Our customer would like to use external frequency oscillator.
So, from the point of view which is the AMC1305 CLK's input, is it no problem, right?
(We guess that ASIC has to sync the start timing between freqeuncy oscillator(output) and CLKIN and DOUT.)

If you have some advice, could you let us know?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

The CLKIN pin of the AMC1305M25 is pin 13. Ideally the trace from the oscillator to the ASIC and AMC device would be as short as possible to minimize any skew. If the ASIC is far away from the AMC1305M25, you should locate the oscilator closer to the AMC device. You can also consider adding a small series termination resistor (100 ohms for instance) to reduce ringing/overshoots.

    Thank you for your reply.
Ok, we understood that our customer's construction is no problem.

    Kind regards,
