PGA300: Calibration of custom PGA300 sensor board with PGA300 EVM

Part Number: PGA300

Hello Experts,

We'd like to calibrate our custom PGA 300 sensor board by using PGA300 EVM and PGA300 GUI. In order for that, connecting a sensor board PWR pin with OWI signal from J12 on PGA300 EVM and connecting a sensor board GND pin with IRETURN signal from J16 on PGA300 EVM.

Could you please confirm above?

Regards,

Hisao Uchikoshi

  • Hello Uchikoshi-san,

You can connect to the PWR signal at J12, or from TP20 which is a bit more accessible.

If the device is in voltage mode, you can simply connect the sensor board ground to TP39 (ASIC_GND, but this is shorted to IRETURN with J16).

If the device is in current output mode, and you would like to measure the current on the EVM via voltage across the board's 10ohm resistor, you can connect your sensor board ground to TP2, and measure the voltage across TP2 and TP3.

If you would like to use an external ammeter, then you can connect directly to IRETURN through the ammeter.

Keep in mind that you may need to adjust the Rloop and additional voltage settings in the PGA300 GUI to account for extra resistance in the OWI current loop and push the OWI voltages back into the proper operating range.

    Regards,
