ADS4129EVM: ADS4129EVM : i can't see any sinusoidal signal

Part Number: ADS4129EVM

Hello.

We bought ADS4129EVM board.

We supply a 12MHz sinusoidal signal for ADC board's input using an arbitrary function generator whose output impedance is 50ohm.

And we measure the signal using an oscilloscope whose high-impedance probe is directly connected to SMA connector output pin as shown in the picture.

But we can't see any sinusoidal signal on the oscilloscope.

What's wrong?

  • Hyeonseok,

Can you see a signal if you remove the cable and place the probe on the SMA center pin? If so, use an Ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the SMA input center pin and the SMA pin that is soldered to the board to verify this is not open. If this is a short, next measure the SMA pin to GND on the board and make sure this is not a short. If it is shorted to GND, there may be a solder blob under one of the components. Make sure R86 is not installed. If it is, it will provide a short to GND on this input through R87.

    Regards,

    Jim
