ADS1293: current consumption when RSTB is active

Part Number: ADS1293

Dear Experts,

Is there any existing data on ADS1293's current consumption when RSTB is active? Could not find that information from datasheet.

Thanks!

Rgds,

Juha

  • Hello Juha,

    Thanks for supporting our ADS1293!

I realize there is no documentation about that in the datasheet. I'll see what I can find out with bench measurements.

Meanwhile, have you seen table 7? There is a detailed breakdown of the circuitry which powers down in Standby Mode and Power-Down Mode. These modes are set in the CONFIG (00h) register. Based on the amount of information in this table, I believe the intention is to use those register bits when placing the device in a low-power state. The RSTB pin, on the other hand, should probably only be used when you need to reset the digital core of the device (i.e. on power-up, an extra reset pulse is usually suggested). Pulsing the RSTB pin should clear the device registers, so they will need to be reconfigured.

    Best Regards,
