ADS8688: Precision Data Converters Forum

Part Number: ADS8688

The datasheet references second-order low-pass filters, but isn't entirely clear if they are programmable. Am I able to change the rolloff of this filter at all? Am I able to disable/enable the filters? It doesn't give me much value to sample at 500 kS/s if I have a filter cutting out everything above 15 kHz.

  • Hi Josh,
The internal LPF can't be programmed, and the cur-off frequency can't be changed. The input signal frequency should be less the value specified for LPF in datasheet. This is non-simultaneous sampling and multi-channel input ADC, so the sampling rate per channel is only 62.5ksps, also this LPF can filter more noise from analog front-end and have better performance for whole signal chain.
    Thanks for query on E2E.

    Best regards
    Dale
