ADC34J43: JESD204

Part Number: ADC34J43
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC3443

Hello,

In the ADC34J43 version, there is a digital gain option to set the FS swing between 1Vptp and 2Vptp with the registers at the addresses 02h to 05h.

If I'm selecting 1Vptp (digital gain = 6 dB), do the ENOB, SFDR and other ADC parameters stay the same ? the FS will be select to 1Vptp instead of 2Vptp.

Is the GUI also updated after the register change (I will see FUND level = 0 dBFS instead of -6dBFS) ?

Can I use those registers for the ADC3443 (no JESD version) ? and how ? because they are not displayed (hidden I assume) in the register map of the ADC3443.

Thanks for your support.

Lolo

  • Hi,

Digital gain feature is available only in JESD version of devices.

When you select digital gain feature, it gains up full spectrum of ADC by same amount. So a quantity expressed in dBc units remains unchanged (such as SFDR), whereas a quantity expressed in dBFS units changes by same amount (such as SNR, noise). ENOB is calculated based on SNR, so it also changes.
