ADS1262: REFOUT CAPACITOR VALUE

Hi all,

Let me allow to ask a question about this product.
Every datasheet and every evm/ref design where i just found the ads1262 uses 1uF cap for ref out.
But for us with 1uF in our design the noise is too big, but if i use 10uF for refout, it will be good.
I cannot show pictures it is not allowed for me. But the 10uF reduced more than 20x the noise.

I just want to ask you where should i search the problem what do you think about?
Is it normal?

Hi Balazs,

Mostly likely it is okay to increase the reference capacitor to 10 uF to provide additional reference noise filtering. Just recently we were looking at a similar part and found that a 10uF reference capacitor provided additional benefit over 1 uF. Since both devices use a similar internal reference we may start recommending 10 uF on the REFOUT pin of the ADS1262 as well.

May I ask under what conditions you noticed a noise improvement? What was the data rate, filter type, PGA gain, and amplitude of the input signal? That data would be very helpful to know!
